Our
wedding weekend is going to be unlike any other wedding you're
been invited to. Since we've both done the fancy church wedding
once before, we have decided to take a more laid-back casual
approach this time. Don't dress too fancy - we're wearing flip-flops
if that gives you any fashion indicator. We love good food,
good music, and good friends, which is exactly what we intend
to celebrate.
Friday,
April 11:
Wedding
rehearsal and band rehearsal at the Brooks residence. Wedding
party members will be treated to a seafood boil after the wedding
rehearsal, and musicians will rehearse the songs for the "all-star
jam" to conclude Saturday's reception. This evening will
also serve as a combined bachelor / bachelorette party. Anyone
with campers, tents, etc are encouraged to stay on the property
if they choose.
Saturday,
April 12:
The
wedding party will arrive throughout the day as the house is
prepared for the wedding. Wedding party members should be ready
for photographs by 3:00 pm. The wedding will begin at 4:00 pm
and will last approximately 20 minutes. Immediately following
the ceremony, the music will begin and the bar will open while
photgraphs are taken. Afterwards, the wedding party will return,
throwing bouquets, garters, and anything else they can get their
hands on. We will cut a cake and begin the shindig. We'll enjoy
a pig roast with all the trimmings. Bands will play late into
the night and all guests are encouraged to drink responsibly
and either stay on the property or find a sober ride home. We
don't want any bad news on our special day.
Sunday,
April 13:
Overnight
guests will be treated to some form of post-party brunch, and
possibly a memosa or bloody mary, depending on interest. We'll
clean up our mess, say goodbye, and go on our honeymoon in lovely
San Diego, California.
Thank
you, and we can't wait to see you there!
